Project Details:

Based at our project in Northern B.C., this will be a 3 week on / 3 week off rotation opportunity.

Responsibilities:

The Electricians on our remote project in Northern BC is responsible and accountable for the following:

  • Following all policies and processes at the mine site and underground
  • Always performing the role safely and ensures Health & Safety is the number one priority
  • Must follow company and legislated safety rules and regulations
  • Interpret and use appropriate sections of the current Ontario Electrical Safety Code
  • Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to carry out assigned tasks
  • Use test equipment to evaluate new, repaired, in-service and stored equipment using manufacturers recommendations and safety precautions
  • Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical systems and replace faulty parts
  • Troubleshoot failures and perform necessary repairs
  • Perform periodic tasks and inspections of equipment and systems to observe operating conditions and determine what is needed for repair or adjustments
  • Execute preventative maintenance activities including trouble shooting and repairs to all equipment in a timely manner
  • Work in a safe productive manner to maximize quality, efficiency and availability while minimizing maintenance cost and unscheduled downtime

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Journeyperson level qualification (trade school or college diploma) – (preferred)
  • Provincially regulated Common Core (required)
  • Minimum 3 years underground mining experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills related to troubleshooting equipment issues, preferably in a fast-paced industrial environment
  • Previous experience of using computer software applicable to maintenance operations
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Dependable and able to commit to a 3 week on / 3 week off rotation
  • Positive attitude and enjoys being a proactive member of a high performing team
  • Preference will be given to those who reside in Northern BC and encourage candidates identifying as indigenous decent to apply

If this position involves frequent air travel to and from the work site. Applicants must meet all legislated requirements for air travel to work at the remote site camp. You will be required to work both dayshift and nightshift as part of the rotational schedule 21 days on site, 21 days off site. For this safety sensitive position, you will be required to undergo a background check and be required to undergo a substance test and pre-employment testing. The successful candidate will be required to cross the USA land border to access site, therefore the required travel documentation including passport will be required.

What we offer:

  • Competitive annual salary ranging between $130,000 - $155,000 based on experience and qualifications. The wage ranges are comprised of the hourly wage plus applicable premiums and calculated on an average number of rotations worked per year.
